Does Coinbase Stock a Good Investment in 2021?

What is Coinbase?

Coinbase set an important milestone on 14th April as the first major crypto company to publicly listed shares.

Coinbase Global Inc. became the first U.S. crypto exchange company to take its place on Wall Street, with a historic direct listing on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the symbol COIN.

Shares are set to begin trading at a reference price of $250. This milestone comes as the crypto industry enjoys a historic bull run that has seen the total market value of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies eclipse $2 trillion in recent weeks.

And while Coinbase may be the first large crypto exchange to go public, it’s unlikely to be the last.

More and more high-profile crypto startups are considering the prospect, or are already in the process of publicly listing their shares—and more could do so soon.

Who will follow Coinbase?

There are several crypto companies such as Binance, BlockiFi, Kraken, eToro and some other crypto firms may be set to follow Coinbase in going public. The push to go public comes amid a bull run for the crypto market.

Coinbase stock investment

Coinbase anticipates that its Class A common stock began publicly trading on Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol “COIN” from April 14, 2021.

Founded in 2012 as a way to simplify the purchase of bitcoin, Coinbase has emerged as the most popular crypto exchange in the U.S. and soared in value alongside digital currencies Bitcoin and Ethereum.

According to CNBC early Coinbase investor Ron Conway says: “ the crypto economy is the next multitrillion-dollar opportunity”.

You can trade Coinbase Stock Token against BUSD on Binance which is a tokenized version of Coinbase stock after the crypto exchange went public on the Nasdaq at a reference stock price of $250.

Bill Rippel I don’t really like that Coinbase became public. It seems the wealthy end up having too much control when that happens.

Simon Keighley It will be interesting to see how the Coinbase shares perform this year along with which Exchanges will follow suit. Thanks for sharing, Zsolt.
